How to get from Yangon to Hpa An
After exploring the many offerings of Myanmar’s largest city, Yangon, many travellers seek respite in a more tranquil setting. Hpa An is one of those destinations.
Known as the riverside capital of Kayin State in Myanmar, Hpa An is a serene town surrounded by limestone mountains, rice fields, and meandering subterranean caves. The area is teeming with the rich culture of the indigenous Karen ethnic group. Hpa An has much to offer to every traveller.
Taking the bus is the only option to travel the 270 km journey from Yangon to Hpa An. The bus ride costs only around $5 and the journey will take about 7 hours.
