Hello, We will have 3.5-4 weeks to travel in the Philippines starting mid April, coming from the U.S, can fly in to Manila or Cebu, but seems Cebu is easiest. We would like to then start in Boracay (sounds maybe too commercial, but would like to at lest see it) . From there, if possible go to (in whatever order makes easiest/quickest travel) Cebu to see waterfalls (Inambakan, Dao, Aguinid, Badia/Kawasan, Mantapuyan seem good), Siquijor, Bohol (don’t need to see tarsiers or spend time a lot of time at chocolate hills, more about beaches & waterfalls), Camiguin, then last spend a few days on Siargao, then back to Cebu or Manila just to catch a flight home. What order do you suggest to travel to these islands & what would be min . number of days to see the best water falls & beaches on each? Open to suggestions to drop, or skip something we listed. Would love to spend a lot of time in each place, but this will be overview until the next visit. Thank you for any suggestions!!
Hello Gina,
That sounds like a great itinerary! Let me try to answer your questions:
To start with, all flights from Manila to Siargao, will make a stop-over in Cebu. In addition, you can easilytravek from Cebu to Boracay. Conclusion -> Better fly on Cebu.
Regarding your visit to Boracay, I would recommend considering Bantayan as an alternative. It’s close to Cebu and offers similar beautiful beaches, but without the crowds. This will make your itinerary also easier. However, you will already see beautiful beaches during your visits to all of your other destinations, so I would personally leave it out of my itinerary.
The order of visiting the destinations I would recommend is:
Cebu – MoalBoal/Badian (2 days) – Siquijor (2-3 days) – Bohol (2-3 days) – Camiguin (2-3 days) – Cebu – (Bantayan/Boracay 5 days) – Siargao (5-7 days).
This would be a great itinerary for your first visit to Philippines. Of course Palawan is also a beautiful place to visit, but this would require another 7 days. Better save this Island for your next trip!
Safe travels!
