When travelling by railway, you have to take the train from Dieu Tri to Da Nang. Even though Hoi An does not have its’ own railway station, we recommend taking the train over the bus because trains are safer and more comfortable.

When taking the bus, you also can’t travel direct. You will take a bus from the centre of Quy Nhon to Da Nang and then transfer to another bus to Hoi An. It’s worth noting that there have been several reports against bus drivers who don’t drive safely on this route.

Looking for a direct transfer? You can get a private ride from Quy Nhon to Hoi An with rates from 4,360,000 VND ($175). This is the fastest option at only 5.5 hours.

We don’t recommend taking a flight from Quy Nhon to Hoi An because it is quite impractical. The nearest airports to the two cities — Da Nang and Phu Cat — are both 1 hour away. Also, all flights make a layover in Ho Chi Minh and take at least 5 hours. With a total travel time of about 7 hours, it will be faster to take the train.
