can we get on arrival visa at prek Chak checkpoint or do we have to get an e visa prior?

E
ElaGeckoRoutes team

Hi Rohan! When entering Cambodia at the Prek Chak Checkpoint, you can get a visa on arrival for $35, plus $2 if you don’t have a picture for the visa. To be honest, it’s unclear whether this is the “official” price because many travellers claim that there are a lot of extra fees for this border crossing. But this is the visa price you’ll get from every immigration officer.

When travelling in the opposite direction from Cambodia to Vietnam — if you’re not from a visa-exempted country — then you’ll need an e-visa (geckoroutes.com) to cross the Prek Chak Border. You have to apply for this at least 3 days in advance to avoid any hassle on the day of your trip. Hope this helps. Safe travels!
