To make trip planning super easy and fast, we created a step-by-step guide to find the best way to travel from/to Siem Reap Airport.

How to get from/to Siem Reap Airport

Getting a taxi from the airport is the safest option. You can get to the city center in just 20 minutes and expect to pay the fixed rate of $10 for a 3-passenger taxi.

Getting to the city center from Siem Reap International Airport is quite straightforward. You can take a taxi, tuk-tuk or jump on the back of a motorbike.

A tuk-tuk ride from the airport takes around 20 minutes and is a good way to start sight-seeing around the city. However, a tuk-tuk does not provide a lot of legroom. The tuk-tuk only fits 1-4 passengers and there is not a lot of space for your backpack/suitcase.

Not the most comfortable, but the cheapest option when traveling alone. You can find motorbike taxi’s at the airport and they can bring you to town for $2 to $9.

Taxi

Taxi from/to Siem Reap Airport

Duration: 20min
Costs: $10

There is a taxi stand just outside the airport. You can book a taxi at the airport taxi service counter for $10 and the ride to the center takes about 20 minutes.

We advise you to book a van in case you are traveling in a group of more than 4 persons. This will cost $15 and they seat up to 6 passengers.

Another option is to check PassApp or Grab to order a taxi via your phone. When I checked the route from the airport to Siem Reap center on PassApp, the fare was only $6. However, bear in mind that fares can vary throughout the day if you use these taxi apps.

If you want to pre-book a taxi online you can book one through the button below. Booking a taxi online is easy to do and the cost remains the same at $10.

Tuk Tuk

You can find the tuk-tuks near the taxi stand at the airport. These airport tuk-tuks charge a fixed fare of $9 to the city center.

There is also a cheaper option at the parking exit of the airport. Negotiate for a good deal and expect to pay $4-$6 to the center.

Some hotels offer free pick up services so don’t forget to check if your hotel does as offer this as well. Other hotels offer pick-up services for about $7. Better yet, you can book a tuk-tuk online and just pay $5 for the entire vehicle.

Reserve a Tuk-Tuk

Tip: Keep your luggage inside the tuk-tuk. It doesn’t happen often, but there have been a few cases that thief’s try to steal bags from the tuk-tuk while passing by on their motorbike.

Motorbike Taxi from/to Siem Reap Airport

Duration: 20min
Costs: $9

A motorbike taxi is a good option for solo backpackers who like the thrill of a motorbike ride. If you are traveling in a group or carrying a lot of luggage we recommend to take a taxi or tuk-tuk instead.

You can find the motorbikes near the taxi stand and book them at the airport taxi service counter for $9.

A cheaper option is the motorbikes parked at the parking exit of the airport. They offer fares as low as $2 to the city center. But, make sure that you agree on the fare in advance.

Although most rides go without accidents, we like to remember you that jumping on the back of a motorbike is not the safest option. Also, don’t carry your backpack on your back as there have been some cases of bag snatching.
