Option 1: Ho Chi Minh to Phan Thiet by Train
There is only one direct train operating from Ho Chi Minh to Phan Thiet daily. This leaves at 06:40 in the morning and travel time is around 4h 5m.
We recommend buying your tickets at the train station in Ho Chi Minh. A ticket costs 250,000 VND ($9.50).

Option 2: Ho Chi Minh to Binh Thuan by Train
If the early morning train is not convenient for you, you can also take one of the trains to Binh Thuan Railway Station, formerly called Muong Man.
But, keep in mind that most of the trains arrive here at night, when buses to Mui Ne are not available anymore. That means that you’ll have to take a more expensive taxi to your hotel.
Train fares from Ho Chi Minh to Mui Ne via Binh Thuan start from 234,000 VND ($8.90). The journey takes about 3h 20m - 4h 5m.

Step 3: Phan Thiet/Binh Thuan to Mui Ne City Centre by Bus/Taxi
When you take the morning train to either Phan Thiet or Binh Thuan, you can catch Bus #9 to Mui Ne. A ticket costs 35,000 VND ($1.30).
Bus #9 passes in front of Phan Thiet Railway Station. If you’re coming from Binh Thuan, you’ll find the nearest bus stop at the T-Junction, which is 5 minutes away on foot. Travel time by bus is 1 hour from Phan Thiet and 1.5 hours from Binh Thuan.
If you take one of the evening trains to Binh Thuan, your only choice is to take a 1-hour taxi to Mui Ne. Fares start from 500,000 VND ($19).

Ho Chi Minh to Mui Ne by Bus
You can choose from five main companies when travelling by bus from Ho Chi Minh to Mui Ne: Kumho Samco, Hanh Cafe, GoEz Travel, VietNam Travel Bus and ADT Limousine.
We recommend travelling with Hanh Cafe because it departs from the city centre of Ho Chi Minh and drops you off close to the centre of Mui Ne. Hanh Cafe also offers the cheapest fares from 295,000 VND ($11).
The departure and arrival points for both Futa Bus and Kumho Samco are quite far from the city centres. That means you will spend extra costs and time for your transfers going to/from the bus stations.
Travel time by bus from Ho Chi Minh to Mui Ne is around 3h - 5h 30m, but can take longer if you travel during peak hours.

Hanh Cafe departs from Kim Travel Office in District 1, just a 5-minute walk from Ho Chi Minh’s Pham Ngu Lao.
Futa Bus leaves from the Western Bus Station, 9 km west of Pham Ngu Lao. You can get there by taxi for around 200,000 VND ($7.60).
Kumho Samco departs from the Eastern Bus Station (Ben Xe Mien Dong), 19 km south of Pham Ngu Lao. That’s a 30-minute taxi for about 370,000 VND ($14).

Hanh Cafe arrives at its headquarters in Mui Ne, 4 km southwest of Mui Ne Beach. A taxi ride to your hotel — if you’re staying near the beach — costs around 130,000 VND ($4.90). Futa Bus arrives at its office in Phan Thiet, 9 km west of Mui Ne Beach. You can get a 10-minute taxi to the beach for around 170,000 VND ($6.50). Kumho Samco parks at North Phan Thiet Bus Station, 25 km west of Mui Ne Beach. From here, you can take Bus #9 to Mui Ne for 35,000 VND ($1.30). You can get a more luxurious transfer from Ho Chi Minh to Mui Ne if you travel by limovan.
A minivan ride from Ho Chi Minh to Mui Ne costs around 553,000 VND ($21). The minivan journey takes about 4h - 4h 30m, depending on traffic.
There are two companies operating on this route: Halong Travel Limousine and GoEz Travel.
