When you travel by train from Mui Ne to Ho Chi Minh, you can either take the train from Phan Thiet or from Muong Man.
We recommend to take the train from Phan Thiet since this railway station is closest to Mui Ne center.
Step 1 Option 1: Phan Thiet to Ho Chi Minh by Train
Duration: 4h 15m Cost: 180,000 VND ($8)
There is only one train that operates on this route daily. This train leaves Phan Thiet railway station in the afternoon at 13:20 and arrives in Ho Chi Minh at 17:35.
To reach Phan Thiet railway station, you can take the public bus for 35,000 VND ($1.50). Alternatively, you can take the taxi for 200,000 VND ($9). See our page for Phan Thiet railway station for more details.

Step 1 Option 2: Muong Man to Ho Chi Minh by Train
Duration: 3.5 hours Cost: 135,000 VND ($6)
If the departure time of the option above is not convenient for you or is fully booked, you can also take one of the trains from Binh Thuan/Muong Man railway station.
To reach this station, you have to take a taxi from Mui Ne which takes about 1 hour and tickets start from 500,000 VND ($22).
Step 2: Ho Chi Minh Railway Station to Ho Chi Minh City Center by Bus/Taxi
Duration: 15 min Cost: 95,000 VND ($4)
The Saigon railway station is located in District 3 in Ho Chi Minh. If your hotel is in the backpacker area in District 1, you will need to take a taxi for around 95,000 VND ($4). Travel time is 15min.
Mui Ne to Ho Chi Minh by Bus
Duration: 5 hours Cost: 155,000 VND ($6.50)
When you decide to travel by bus from Mui Ne to Ho Chi Minh, we recommend travelling with Hanh Café or The Sinh Tourist.
These bus companies leave from the center of Mui Ne and also drop you off in the backpacker street in Ho Chi Minh.
Futa Bus also has buses leaving every hour. These buses depart from their bus stop near Mui Ne Beach and arrive in Ho Chi Minh District 2. From here, you can transfer to a seater bus for a free shuttle ride to District 1.
Tickets for The Sinh Tourist, Hanh Cafe and Futa Bus are also available on Baolau for a few dollars less. But it’s worth to consider that BookAway is much more reliable and offers better customer service.
Mui Ne to Ho Chi Minh by Limovan
