Bus from Battambang to Sihanoukville
Duration: 10,5 hours
From Battambang to Sihanoukville is quite a long journey since the bus has to go all the way east via Phnom Penh. If you have already seen Phnom Penh, you can choose from two bus companies to travel this distance in one leg.
There are only a few companies operating on this route like Mekong Express, Virak Buntham and Phnom Penh Sorya. We recommend booking with Mekong Express as this company receives good reviews in Cambodia, while Virak Buntham does not have a great reputation.
Bear in mind that sitting in a van for more than 10 hours is not a great experience. Virak Buntham does also offer a night bus, which can make the right a bit quicker as you can sleep during the ride. However, traveling by night is less safe and Virak Buntham doesn’t receive the best reviews.
If you wish to book with Mekong Express, you need to go to BookMeBus.

|Mini Bus Operator||Schedule||Duration||Costs|
|Phnom Penh Sorya||07:00-18:30|
Mekong Express has several departure times but also earlier buses arrive at the same time or even later. This is why we only provide the shortest bus ride from this company.
- Departure next to Psar Nat supermarket in the center
- Arrival near the Phsar Leu Market, which is still a 10-minute tuk-tuk ride to the center of Sihanoukville
Buses of Virak Buntham are a few hours faster, but we prefer Mekong Express as we choose safety first.
- Boarding point: Virak Buntham Battambang office, just one block away from Boeung Chhouk Market
- Drop-off point: Virak Buntham Express Travel & Tours office, next to the Sihanoukville bus terminal which is a 10-15 min tuk-tuk or taxi ride to the center
Phnom Penh Sorya
Phnom Penh Sorya does not generally have a good reputation but they offer trips for this route so you can also consider booking with them.
- Departure from Street 106, opposite of the Family Caffee
