The ferry is the most convenient means of transportation to travel from Phuket to Koh Lipe. The downside is that this direct ferry ride is quite expensive compared to the combined bus and ferry option.

If you want to take your time and are willing to travel 6-8 hours more to save money, the bus is also a good option. Take the night bus from Koh Lipe to Phuket, while also saving a night on accommodation.

Taking a flight combined with a bus would have been a really fast and relatively cheaper alternative. However, it is not possible to do this in one day. The earliest arrival from Koh Lipe at Hat Yai Airport is at 13:30 while the only available direct flight to Phuket departs at 11:30. Also with a ferry + taxi, you won’t make it on time.

Note that most ferries do not operate trips during unfavourable weather for safety reasons. They also offer fewer sailings daily during the low season.

Also, keep in mind that speedboat rides can be quite bumpy. If you are prone to motion sickness, we recommend taking an anti-motion sickness tablet beforehand to save yourself from any discomfort during the ride.
