When heading south to the island of Koh Samui, all ferries depart from Thong Sala Pier on Koh Phangan.

The entire journey between the two islands takes at least 20 minutes. The cost depends on which pier you wish to arrive at. Lomprayah and Seatran Discovery offer a drop-off service to your hotel in Koh Samui for an additional 150 THB ($5).
