Koh Tao may be just 1/10 the size of its neighbour Koh Samui, but you’ll still find here beautiful bays and beaches and gorgeous coral gardens with tons of fish. It’s not without a reason that Koh Tao is so popular with divers.
The only way to travel the 70km distance from Koh Samui to Koh Tao is by ferry. Tickets start from $17, but ferry operators offer hotel pick-up for an additional $5. Travel time by ferry is 3 hours. Speedboats are faster, but a bit more expensive.
Koh Samui has different piers. When taking the ferry from Koh Samui to Koh Tao, we suggest checking the nearest pier from your current location.
