Koh Phangan offers an excellent local vibe while drawing many tourists for the famous Full Moon Parties, beaches, and stunning mountain top views.
The distance from Koh Tao to Koh Phangan is 60 km (37 miles). In this post, we discuss the sole option of travelling which is by ferry (1 hour). Ticket prices range from 440 THB ($13) to 600 THB ($18).

There are 2 ferry companies operating from Koh Tao to Koh Phangan: Marine Passion and Lomprayah. The companies offer rides on a speedboat or catamaran that can take you to Koh Phangan in just an hour!
The other ferry companies like Seatran Discovery and Songserm used to operate from Koh Tao to Koh Pangan. But the last time we checked (June 2022), these ferries are unavailable.
Departure and arrival ports
All ferries in Koh Tao depart from Mae Haad Pier on the east side of Koh Tao.
The ferries arrive at Thong Sala Pier on Koh Phangan. This pier is located in Ban Tai, on the east side of Koh Phangan.

There are only a couple of trips per day so it’s best to book early.
You may require transfers to get to and from the piers mentioned. Check with your hotels if they offer transportation.
