Hopping on a bus is a lot cheaper than hiring a taxi. Great option if you’re on a budget!

Phantip operates buses going from Phuket to Surat Thani with all the buses departing from Phuket’s Bus Terminal 2, the journey takes about 5 hours.

Buses arrive at either Surat Thani town center or the Surat Thani Railway Station. The bus ride to Surat Thani town center costs 200 THB ($7) and to Surat Thani Railway Station the cost is 200 THB ($7).

Prefer a convenient car ride from Phuket to Surat Thani? Then it’s best to hire a taxi service. It will not be cheap but it allows you the convenience of door-to-door travel.

You can hail a taxi along the streets of Phuket but you’ll need to negotiate a fair price with the driver. You can also contact local transport agencies for their standard prices. Additionally, your hotel may be able to provide assistance if you wish take a taxi, be sure to ask them if this service is available.

Taxis often charge 4,400 THB – 5,700 THB ($144 – $187)  for the journey from Phuket to Surat Thani. There are also van services available so travelling in a big group with a private van is another option.
