Surat Thani Railway Station by Bus
The bus is a cheap way to travel from Surat Thani Railway Station to the city centre. You can easily find these orange-coloured buses in the parking area outside the station.
A bus ride to the town centre costs about 20 THB ($0.50). There are buses every 15 minutes throughout the day, but note that there are fewer buses operating after 19:00.
Depending on traffic, the journey takes about 40-50 minutes to reach the town centre from Surat Thani Railway Station. As this is a local bus, it will make numerous stops along the way.

If you’re travelling from the city centre to Surat Thani Railway Station, you can find the local buses at Surat Thani Talad Kaset 1 Station. This is located within walking distance of many hotels in the city.
Surat Thani Railway Station by Taxi
If you prefer to travel in comfort from Surat Thani Railway Station to the town centre, you can hail a taxi. You can book one at the taxi service counter just outside of the train station, and you can easily find it with its sign that reads ‘low-cost taxi service.’
The taxi service uses regular cars to transport travellers to different destinations throughout Surat Thani. A taxi ride to the town centre starts from 140 THB ($3.90) and takes about 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
If you’re not going to the town centre, you can compare the distance of travelling to the town centre (15 km) and your desired destination to ensure the price is fair.
