Coconut Beach is a peaceful escape, famous for its soft white sand, turquoise water, and laid-back vibe. You can reach it from Long Set Beach on foot, by tuk-tuk, motorbike, or taxi boat.
The walk takes about an hour along a rough jungle trail starting at the north end of Long Set Beach. Expect uneven paths, a few uphill sections, and hand-painted signs pointing the way. Wear sturdy shoes, bring water and mosquito spray, and download an offline map since the signal may drop along the route.
If you’d rather not hike, you can arrange your transportation easily through your guesthouse.
A tuk-tuk ride costs around 40,000 KHR ($10) for two people, and takes only 15 minutes. If you want more flexibility, you can rent a motorbike starting at 40,000 KHR ($10) per day and explore at your own pace.
A taxi boat is more expensive at about 160,000 KHR ($40) – 200,000 KHR ($50) for 2–4 people, or more for larger groups. It’s the most expensive option, but the coastal views make it a scenic 25–30 minute trip.
Getting to Palm Beach
If you’re planning to explore Palm Beach from Sihanoukville, the best route is via Long Set Beach too. Though Palm Beach is located in a more secluded area in Koh Rong, it will be a great experience to visit!
Your accommodation can help you organise tuk-tuk transport from Long Set Beach to Palm Beach. The ride takes about 30 minutes, and prices start at around 60,000 KHR ($15) one way or 120,000 KHR ($30) return.
Sihanoukville to Koh Rong by Ferry to Sok San Beach
Set on the southwestern coast of Koh Rong, Sok San Beach offers a quieter and more private vibe than Koh Toch Beach. If you’re looking for fewer crowds and a more laid-back stay, this is a great choice.
The ferry to Sok San Beach departs from Sihanoukville Autonomous Port and takes around 50 minutes, depending on sea conditions. Ticket prices start from 56,000 KHR ($14) on BookAway.
When booking in advance, make sure the ferry’s arrival port is Sok San Beach (Sok San Port). Some ferries only stop at Koh Rong Community Pier or Long Set Pier, which are on a different part of the island.
In case of bad weather, ferry companies may dock at a nearby pier and arrange onward transport to Sok San Beach from there.
