The journey takes 1 hour 10 minutes to 3 hours 35 minutes and the quickest way is by train. If you're on a budget, the cheapest option is by bus with tickets starting at €5.50 ($6.30).
Naples to Rome by Bus
The bus can be a cheap alternative to the train if you book your tickets early.
Fares start from €5.50 ($6.30) with FlixBus, but you can also find tickets as cheap as €3 ($3.50) on some days. Travel time by bus from Naples to Rome is about 2 hours 30 minutes to 3 hours 35 minutes.

The buses depart from Naples Metropark beside Napoli Centrale Station in the city centre.
