There are 5 ways to travel the 35 kilometres (22 miles) from Brac to Split. You can choose between the bus, private transport, High-Speed ferry, High-Speed ferry via Milna and car ferry via Supetar. The journey takes 25 minutes to 2 hours 40 minutes and the quickest way is by high-speed ferry via Milna. Brac to Split by High-Speed Ferry

When travelling from the main tourist area of Bol to Split, you can choose between high-speed ferries and catamarans.

The Jardolinija catamaran operates all year round, while the Kapetan Luka catamaran and KSC Naranca high-speed ferry are available only during the summer season (June to September).

High-speed ferries are more comfortable and cheaper at €19 ($22). Travel time is 50 minutes - 1 hour.

Departure and arrival stations

These ferries depart from Bol Main Pier. It is the only port on the south coast of Brac Island. This port is also close to hotels and restaurants in the city centre.

All ferries dock at Split Ferry Port, 500 m south of the Old Town.

It operates on a first-come, first-served basis. So even with an online ticket, if the ferry you booked is already full, you may need to queue for hours at the port for a seat.

Are you staying on Brac Island’s west side? There are ferries operating from Milna to Split. Milna is a beautiful Dalmatian fishing village located some 45 km west of Bol.

The distance is shorter from this side of the island, so the ferry rides are also cheaper.

Jadrolinija is the only catamaran operating all year round, but it’s available only on Wednesdays. The other ferries are available every day, but only between April and October.

Ticket prices from Milna, Brac to Split start from €5.90 ($6.90). Travel time is 25 minutes to 1 hour 5 minutes.

Ferries from Milna to Split depart from Milna Port within walking distance from the town centre.

If you’re staying in Bol but taking the ferry from Milna, you can take a taxi with fares from €75 ($87). A much cheaper option is the bus: take a bus going north to Supetar, then take another bus bound for Milna. The whole trip takes around 1h 30m. Combined bus fares from Bol to Milna start from €12 ($13.90).

The last stop for the ferries from Milna to Split is Split Ferry Port.

Travelling by car from Brac to Split? Jadrolinija operates car ferries from Supetar, the largest town in Brac. Supetar on the north coast is about 45 km away from the main tourist area of Bol.

You have several choices since there are ferry departures throughout the day during the summer season (June to August).

Outside the summer season, there are still about nine ferry trips daily, with the earliest one at 06:30. You can take this car ferry as a foot passenger throughout the year.

Fares start at €6.50 ($7.50) plus the fee of €26 ($30) per car. The journey takes around 50 minutes.

Car ferries depart from Supetar Ferry Port in the city centre.

If you’re a foot passenger from Bol, buses are available up to Supetar Bus Station, 5 minutes away from the port. The bus ride will take about an hour and cost around €6 ($7). Tickets are available on BookAway.

You will arrive at Split Ferry Port, same as the other passenger ferries from Brac to Split.

Travelling by bus is one of the cheapest ways to get from Brac to Split, with fares starting at €8.70 ($10.10).

Autotrans by Arriva is the only bus company operating on this route.

Here’s how it works: buses heading to Split first travel overland from Bol on Brac’s south coast to Supetar on the north coast. From there, you will take a ferry across to Split. The full journey takes around 1 hour 10 minutes to 2 hours 40 minutes.

A private transfer is a convenient option when travelling in a group from Brac to Split, or when you’re heading to Split Airport.

You’ve got two choices:

a public ferry with hotel pickup in Bol and airport drop-off in Split
a private speedboat with airport drop-off in Split

Private ground transfer with public ferry

If you’re travelling with Maci Tours from Brac to Split Airport, the journey starts with a private transfer from your hotel in Bol to Bol Port. From there, you’ll take a public ferry to Split. Once you arrive at Matejuska Port, a private vehicle will be waiting to drive you straight to the airport.

Prices start from €215 ($245) for a standard car, while an 8-seater minivan costs around €270 ($315) with BookAway. The journey takes about 2 hours 5 minutes.

Private Speedboats

If you’re after a more scenic way to reach Split, Absolut Charter offers private speedboat transfers from both Supetar and Bol on Brac Island.
