Kampot to Siem Reap by Bus
Taking a direct bus from Kampot to Siem Reap is a good option if you want a straightforward trip. The downside is that it’s a long journey, taking anywhere between 7 hours to 9 hours 30 minutes.
There are two bus companies operating on this route: Giant Ibis and Virak Buntham Express.
Some travellers choose a late-night sleeper bus to save on a night of accommodation. Just keep in mind that you’ll arrive very early in the morning, often before sunrise, so it’s worth thinking about where you’ll wait or whether your accommodation allows early check-in.

Kampot to Siem Reap by Flight
You can travel from Kampot to Siem Reap by combining a taxi and a flight.
First, take a taxi from Kampot to Sihanoukville Airport, then catch a flight from Sihanoukville to Siem Reap.
Total travel time takes about 4 hours 40 minutes, and the journey costs around 435,000 KHR ($110).

Start by taking a taxi from Kampot to Sihanoukville Airport. The journey takes around 2h 30m, depending on traffic.
Taxi fares usually start at 161,000 KHR ($40), but drivers may quote as high as 262,000 KHR ($65), especially if you don’t negotiate. You can either hail a taxi in town or ask your hotel to arrange one for you.

Step 2: Sihanoukville to Siem Reap
Flight fares from Sihanoukville to Siem Reap start from 241,000 KHR ($60) for a one-way ticket. The flight time is just a little over an hour.
Step 3: Siem Reap Airport to the city centre
Siem Reap–Angkor International Airport (SAI) is located about 45 km east of the city centre. Since replacing the old airport in 2023, it now takes longer to reach town — around 45 minutes to 1.5 hours, depending on traffic and your transport choice.
The cheapest option is the airport shuttle bus, with fares from 32,000 KHR ($8). It drops you off along 7 Makara Street, about 2 km from the tourist centre. From there, you can take a tuk-tuk or taxi to your hotel.
Private transfers are the most comfortable and fastest option, though they’re also the most expensive. You can choose between airport taxis, ride-hailing apps like Grab and PassApp, or pre-booked cars through BookAway. Prices range from 101,000 KHR ($25) to 181,000 KHR ($45).

Kampot to Siem Reap by Taxi
A private transfer from Kampot to Siem Reap is the easiest and most convenient option. The journey takes 8 to 9 hours, and you’ll be dropped off right at your accommodation — no need to worry about extra transfers.
Prices for private transfer start at 680,000 KHR ($170) for a 4-seater. Split it with your group, and it’s about 170,000 KHR ($42.50) each.
Because this is a relatively long journey, a private transfer also gives you more flexibility. You can choose your departure time and make short stops along the way if needed.
It’s best to book your taxi in advance, as this route isn’t that common for local drivers.
