Cebu to Camiguin by Ferry
Travelling via ferry from Cebu to Camiguin requires a stop in Bohol.
The final leg to Camiguin departs from Jagna Port and is available only once daily at 14:30 — keep this time in mind, so you could schedule your transfers accordingly.
Step 1: Cebu to Tagbilaran by Ferry
Supercat Fast Ferry, OceanJet and Lite Shipping offer daily ferry trips from Cebu City to Tagbilaran.
Travel time is 2 hours with the fastcrafts (OceanJet and Supercat) and 4 hours with the car ferries (Lite Shipping).
If you’re planning to continue to Jagna on the same day, we recommend taking a fastcraft that departs no later than 09:30 in the morning. That gives you enough time to catch onward transport from Tagbilaran before noon.
Fares start from 965 PHP ($15.90) for the fastcrafts and 600 PHP ($9.90) for the car ferries.
Supercat and Oceanjet ferries depart from Cebu Pier 1, while Lite Shipping leaves from Cebu Pier 3. Both piers are about 5 km away from Cebu City centre. You can get there by a 20-minute taxi for around 150 PHP ($2.50) or by a 1-hour bus for 50 PHP ($0.80).
Important: choose a ferry that docks at Tagbilaran City Port because it is the most convenient if you’re heading to Jagna. From the pier, you can take a tricycle to take you to Dao Bus Terminal in Tagbilaran city centre. A ride costs around 50 PHP ($0.80).
There are also ferries operating from Cebu to Bohol’s Tubigon Pier. However, this is much farther from Jagna Port and your land transfer will be more expensive.
For more details, check out our Cebu to Bohol guide.
Step 2: Tagbilaran to Jagna Port by Bus
At Dao Bus Terminal, look for the buses bound for Jagna. Ceres Bus and Dory Transit operate most of the trips, with departures running from 04:00 to 21:00.
The journey from Tagbilaran to Jagna takes about 2 hours, and ticket prices start from 150 PHP ($2.50) for an air-conditioned bus. Inform the driver that you want to be dropped off at Jagna Port, as these buses usually continue to other towns.
If there’s no air-conditioned bus available, no need to worry. The route isn’t too polluted and you’ll enjoy some beautiful coastal views along the way, taking a non-aircon bus is not such a bad idea.
Step 3: Jagna Port to Camiguin by Ferry
Ferries from Jagna Port in Bohol to Camiguin operate once a day and are operated by Super Shuttle Ferry. Travel time is around 4h 30m.
A ferry ticket costs 965 PHP ($15.90), and you can book them in advance through 12GoAsia. It’s best to arrive there with at least 30 minutes to spare to secure a seat.
All ferries depart from Jagna Port and dock at Balbagon Pier in Camiguin. From here, you can take a tricycle to your accommodation.
