Discover Da Lat
Thanks to its 1500m high altitude, Da Lat is a popular destination with locals who want to escape the heat of the south. Don’t worry, it doesn’t get as cold as in Sapa, but wearing a jacket in the evening won’t be a bad idea.
In Da Lat, you can rent a motorbike and visit nearby waterfalls and coffee farms. You can also explore the city on foot, or join a canyoning tour to abseil waterfalls.
While Da Lat is a great destination for adventurous travellers, it is also known as the flower city of romance and even has a little Eiffel Tower!
Note that Da Lat is among the most visited cities during the Tet holiday in January/February (Vietnamese New Year). During this public holiday, it will be very hard to find any accommodation if you don’t book in advance!
How to get to Da Lat
Based in Bali, Maarten’s passion for travel is undeniable. In 2016, he decided to quit his job as a stock analyst and started doing what he always dreamed of: travelling through South East Asia and helping other people plan their trips. When he is not working on Gecko Routes, you’ll find him surfing in the ocean or exploring the best gems of Indonesia.
